Salvation is not just securing a visa to heaven, On the contrary, it is your guarantee for a life of greater impact on the earth.
You are born again to reign again. You are saved to shine, not to suffer frustration, humiliation or depression. Likewise, you are saved to make impact. Making great impact is about making the most of your life. Standing out among your peers, being unique, a plus not a minus, a contributor, not a detractor, a distributor, not a beggar.
Excellence in seed form is released into every person that comes into contact with God at salvation. After the grace of excellence has been released, you have a duty to cultivate and activate this grace.
The spirit of excellence in a believer can be likened to electricity supply to an area. The fact that electricity exists does not mean everyone will enjoy light. Ignorance of this reality may lead some to remain in darkness. Other people with knowledge of the electricity will suffer darkness until they take conscious steps to switch on their various electrical appliances.
Knowledge and choice are two most important forces that switch on the spirit of excellence in every believer. Making great impact is about affecting your world positively. It is about making the most of your life, standing out among your peers.
WHAT IS EXCELLENCE?
- Excellence is from the Latin word, from two roots Exceed and Seal. It means to exceed the seal.
- Excellence is being exceptional in any assignment you undertake.
- Excellence is doing common things in an uncommon way with a view to achieving extraordinary feat.
- Excellence is about adding beauty, colour and grace to your work to produce an outstanding result.
- Excellence means “I have done more than I have seen around”.
- Excellence is developing hatred for average. Excellence sees average as an enemy to be conquered.
- Excellence is about pursuing an assignment with a mind-set that nothing else matters to you than that assignment.
- Excellence is going the extra-mile to get information that helps you add value to the job at hand.
- Excellence is about trading your talent for profit.
- Excellence is giving your best in accordance with the demands of the job.
- Excellence is not being content to be a local champion. He compete globally. He does not judge himself by local results.IICor. 10:12 For we dare not class ourselves or compare ourselves with those who commend themselves. But they, measuring themselves by themselves and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.
- Excellence means not following the crowd. Those who follow the crowd never pull a crowd.
- Excellence guns for private result at the expense of public opinion. He dances to a different drum beat. He is mindful of his goals and pursues same with passion.
- Excellence is being change oriented. He is always looking for new and better ways of accomplishing his tasks. He is ever questioning the status quo. Status quo is a Latin word that means the mess we are in. You cannot be doing things the same way and expect a different result.
- Excellence does not measure himself by human possibilities but by divine possibilities. Don’t set goals that is possible for you or that any man can do for you. Set goals that only God can do. Mark 9:23 If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.
- Excellence is not being satisfied with previous results. Discard the good result of yesterday. Success is the enemy of excellence. Don’t be satisfied with where you have been. Success that is not constantly updated soon becomes a current failure.

to have apprehended, but one thing I do; forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead. That is why Jesus said you are the salt of the earth and you are the light of the world a city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Matt. 5:13-16.
As the light of the world, the world should be able to get direction from. You are a pace setter by destiny. Jesus said “You are the salt of the earth”So you are to give taste to life and preserve the world system from decadence. That should excite you. Just as salt is relevant to the good taste of meal, you are relevant to the world. Everyone knows that a city set upon a hill cannot be hidden because it is outstanding. So when Jesus said “You are a city set upon a hill”, it means that you are destined to live an outstanding life, to stand above your
peers. This opens the agenda of God as stated in Ish. 2:1-3. He guarantees that you are making a mark in your field of endeavor. The quality of results you have will command the respect of your colleagues.
That goes to say that wherever you are located, you will stand out. Therefore, even if you are at the bottom rung of the ladder now, you must rejoice because there is a glorious future for you. You are becoming a person of value, someone who will matter to his generation, a person of impact.
WHY EXCELLENCE IN MINISTRY?
People of today choose church the way they choose a restaurant.15% of churches in any city account for 50% of Christians attending churches on any Sunday. These are churches that are effective and excellent. The God we serve is a God of excellence. We misrepresent Him when we offer mediocre service. Every church is an embassy, a local franchise of heaven. The embassy reflects the splendor of the wealth of the nation, they are everything around us is improving.
BENEFITS OF EXCELLENCE MIND-SET IN MINISTERSThen this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was found in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm. When you are unique and better, it is a matter of time, you will stand out. You will be rated first class for the first place.
For as much as excellence of spirit and knowledge and understanding, interpreting of dreams and showing of hard sentences and dissolving of doubts were found in the same Daniel, now let Daniel be called and he will show the interpretation. David had a similar recommendation in I Sam. 16:18. They will also send for you.
Then commanded Belshaza, and they clothed Daniel with scarlet, and put a chain of gold about his neck, and made a proclamation concerning him that he should be the third ruler in the kingdom.
